[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Musical actress Ok Joo-hyun has filed a lawsuit against malicious commenters.

On the 13th, according to our investigation, Ok Joo-hyun recently took legal action through a law firm against malicious commenters who continuously posted harmful comments online on platforms such as YouTube and DC Inside galleries.

Ok Joo-hyun’s side collected evidence of some malicious commenters spreading false information and posting insulting harmful comments online, and proceeded with a lawsuit on charges of false accusation and defamation.

Previously, while appearing as a judge on JTBC's "Phantom Singer 3," which aired from April to July, Ok Joo-hyun suffered from the indiscriminate posting of malicious comments directed at her online. Eventually, she revealed messages from some commenters containing excessive slander and expressed her determination to take strong action.

On June 25, Ok Joo-hyun took a firm stance against malicious commenters on her social media (SNS), stating, "There will be no leniency regardless of the reason." She added, "You don’t need to offer a belated hollow apology. The evil keyboard attacks left somewhere?I will use everything possible, including compensation for defamation and mental damage, to empty your bank accounts."

At that time, Ok Joo-hyun also shared screenshots of direct messages (DMs) sent by a malicious commenter. She expressed anger, saying, "'Did I unilaterally eliminate Gu Bon-su (a participant of 'Phantom Singer 3')? Don’t speak carelessly anywhere. Even if you lack manners, there are limits. Favoritism? What power do I have to favor anyone?' She added, 'You have not only made personal attacks but also given me plenty of reasons to see you at the police station within your own words.'

After the malicious commenter sent an apology DM, Ok Joo-hyun responded firmly, saying, "Is it a good ending if you hit someone, stab them with a knife, and then apologize? You should pay the price. There will be no leniency."

It appears that Ok Joo-hyun decided to file a lawsuit as the excessive slander against her continued. Moreover, many celebrities have recently declared war against malicious commenters. Previously, numerous stars such as IU, Go Jun-hee, and Kim Hee-chul have filed lawsuits and maintained their stance of no leniency.

Recently, as comment sections on entertainment news disappeared, some malicious commenters have been indiscriminately posting harmful comments on celebrities’ SNS, YouTube channels, and online communities, which has been pointed out as a problem. As stars have drawn their swords and hinted at strong responses, the war against malicious commenters is expected to continue.

Meanwhile, Ok Joo-hyun is currently performing on stage in the musical "Marie Curie."
