Selected for Movie Theater Admission Discount Voucher Support Project, Limited to 2 Tickets per Person per Week
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 13th that it has been selected for the 'Movie Theater Admission Discount Voucher Support Project' promoted by the Korean Film Council and will proceed with a discount event.
This project was promoted to revitalize movie viewing, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, to overcome the overall damage to the film industry, and to enhance social vitality through cultural activities of the residents.
Accordingly, Goheung Small Theater will hold a discount event from the 14th until the support funds are exhausted, with the Korean Film Council's support totaling 15,175,000 KRW (3,035 tickets).
Of the 6,000 KRW admission fee per person, 5,000 KRW will be discounted, allowing viewers to watch the latest movies for 1,000 KRW. The issuance limit is 2 tickets per person per week, and tickets can only be issued on-site at the theater.
Additionally, from the 8th of next month, a four-day special exhibition organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is planned, where about 10 films, including classic movies and documentaries, will be screened for free.
A county official said, "We hope that this event will provide some comfort to the residents who have been discouraged by COVID-19."
Meanwhile, Goheung Small Theater opened in February 2016 and has been watched by over 281,000 people so far, establishing itself as a cultural space in Goheung-gun.
