SH Corporation and UN-Habitat Korea Committee Sign MOU for 'Right to Housing Education'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) announced that on the 13th, it signed a memorandum of understanding for joint promotion of a housing rights education program for youth with the UN-Habitat Korea Committee at the UN-Habitat Korea Committee in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

This program is a social contribution initiative targeting adolescents and young adults. Through domestic and international housing rights case studies and international exchanges, it plans to provide participants with a correct understanding of housing rights and opportunities to enhance global awareness. This year, as a pilot program, it will be held twice from October to January next year, including university students, recruiting and selecting about 25 participants per session.

SH Corporation and the UN-Habitat Korea Committee agreed to actively promote the education program by ▲ providing education for a correct understanding of housing rights for domestic youth ▲ offering opportunities for youth to enhance global awareness through domestic and international housing rights case study activities ▲ mutually cooperating to nurture future talents who can professionally address and solve housing-related issues.

Kim Se-yong, President of SH Corporation, said, "This education program is an integrated version of the existing social contribution programs for youth, such as humanities exploration and overseas exploration, expanding the target to young adults (university students) to increase participation opportunities," adding, "As this is a meeting with a professional organization leading sustainable urban development, we will develop it into a program that can continuously evolve."
