[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] KOTRA will hold the ‘2020 VR·AR Online Export Consultation’ at COEX in Seoul. It announced on the 13th that the consultation will be held in conjunction with the ‘Seoul Virtual·Augmented Reality Expo.’
The consultation, which will be held for two days starting from the 13th, will feature 15 video consultation booths set up by KOTRA to showcase domestic virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies and trends to overseas buyers. About 40 domestic VR·AR companies will participate in the consultation to conduct online export consultations with overseas buyers.
VR·AR technology allows users to consume and experience content in a completely new way, emerging as a core technology for remote and contactless marketing. Domestic VR·AR companies are expanding their scope beyond the previously strong fields of gaming and content to areas such as medical, education, sports, and culture.
KOTRA has recruited 80 companies from key countries in the global VR·AR ecosystem, including the United States, China, and Japan. Company A, which provides VR·AR solutions to global companies, said, “We want to introduce promising Korean VR·AR content to overseas markets,” adding, “We are looking for companies with excellent technology.”
Sangmook Kim, Head of KOTRA’s Innovation Growth Division, said, “As remote and contactless environments become the norm, VR·AR content is gaining attention as a core technology,” and added, “This consultation will be a great opportunity for excellent domestic VR·AR companies to go global.”
