[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station (Chief Choi Jeongsik) announced on the 13th that it inspected the evacuation and fire prevention facilities of eight escape room cafes on the 12th and conducted fire safety consulting.
The Fire Agency is promoting a plan to designate escape room cafes, a new type of business with a high fire risk, as multi-use facilities under the "Special Act on the Safety Management of Multi-use Facilities." Last month, a partial amendment was also announced for public comment.
Accordingly, Dongbu Fire Station visited escape room cafes, where there is a high risk of casualties in case of fire, to conduct fire safety consulting, and produced and distributed evacuation maps (with English notation) and fire evacuation guidelines for staff and occupants.
Through this consulting, they are continuously responding to fire prevention in escape room cafes and recommended that related parties install fire facilities equivalent to those required by the Special Act on Multi-use Facilities.
Choi Jeongsik, Chief of Dongbu Fire Station, said, "I hope that fire safety for citizens using escape room cafes will be secured through this consulting."
