Resumption of Village Community Operations in Dongjak-gu... Movie Viewing Available Movie Review

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is operating the ‘Makangseu’ program as it gradually reopens village community spaces, which were temporarily closed due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, to support residents' activities.

‘Makangseu’ is an abbreviation of ‘a private vacation to the village vitality center.’ The district will operate programs throughout August including ▲famous orchestra online live performances ▲open library ▲online cultural center enjoyed from the front row ▲my own movie theater ▲board games, etc. When renting the space, the Makangseu programs can be enjoyed as a package.

The operating spaces are ▲Boramaedungji Village Vitality Center (Yeouidaebang-ro 16-gil 53) ▲Saigo-un Village Vitality Center (Dongjak-daero 27ga-gil 19) ▲Dongjak-gu Happy Village Room (Sangdo-ro 30-gil 40), and anyone can use them.

Reservations can be made for one team of up to 5 people per session, either from 10 AM to 1 PM or 2 PM to 5 PM.

Reservation applications can be made on odd days via the Gongyoonuri site (https://www.eshare.go.kr), and on even days by phone or in-person visit. Priority is given to ▲family gatherings ▲village community small groups ▲individuals.

To prevent COVID-19 infection, users of the spaces must strictly follow quarantine rules such as wearing masks, temperature checks, and using hand sanitizer. To ensure residents’ peace of mind, items used during the rental will be immediately disinfected by the space operator after use.

Additionally, the district will operate the second half of the year’s village community programs until December. When renting spaces for families or individuals, child-centered experiential programs such as ▲glider making ▲elevator making are available, and making kits will be provided.

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Dongjak-gu Office’s Autonomous Administration Division.

The district has completed registering the items of the Our Village Tool Rental Centers, operated in 14 neighborhoods, on the Gongyoonuri site. This eliminates the inconvenience of having to check availability by phone or visit the district office or community centers, allowing easy tool search and reservation from home through the site.

Our Village Tool Rental Centers have seen a significant increase in usage every year, with a total of 1,505 rentals last year. They offer over 80 types of tools that are difficult to keep at home, such as electric drills, sanders, and cut saws.

Choi Hwan-bong, head of the Autonomous Administration Division, said, “Through the Makangseu program prepared by Dongjak-gu village communities throughout August, we want to provide a chance for rest to residents who are exhausted,” and added, “We ask for strict compliance with quarantine rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during use.”
