Gangbuk-gu Produces Children's Safety Storybooks and Educational Videos

Production of Picture Books and Educational Videos on Traffic Safety Distributed to Daycare Centers... 'Visiting Infant and Toddler Traffic Safety Storytelling' Planned for Public and National Daycare Centers

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeomsu) has produced the fairy tale book and educational video titled "Safety is the Best" to cultivate traffic safety habits among infants and toddlers.

The fairy tale addresses child safety accidents that may occur due to vehicles such as cars and kickboards, as well as proper prevention tips and response methods. Children learn to honk the horn to alert others when trapped alone inside a vehicle and how to prevent kickboard safety accidents.

Additionally, the story includes content recommending ways to prevent car accidents near crosswalks and parking lots, and encourages wearing yellow raincoats, rain boots, and safety umbrellas that allow visibility on rainy days.

The district distributed the produced video to daycare centers. Furthermore, 500 copies of the published fairy tale book were distributed on the 16th of last month to local daycare centers, Gangbuk-gu public libraries, Gangbuk-gu Childcare Support Center, and Gangbuk-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center.

Moreover, the district plans to conduct traffic safety storytelling sessions for public and national daycare centers in the area. The education will take place from the reopening of daycare centers until the end of the year, with professional storytelling instructors visiting the daycare centers in person to tell the stories.

Park Gyeomsu, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, stated, "To reduce accidents, it is important to directly raise children's awareness of safety so they can internalize its importance." He added, "I hope children will increase their safety awareness and respond correctly in case of emergencies by watching the fairy tale book and video."
