With about 10 attendees including Mayor Noh Hyun-song, city council members, and district council members, the Urban Management Research Institute, which was in charge of this research project, presented concrete plans for the creation and revitalization of the Magok District Cultural Street.

According to the details, the plan proposes to promote the revitalization of Magok District by connecting a total of five cultural zones?Magok Cultural Street, Green, Business, History, and Leisure?that reflect the characteristics of Magok District as a high-tech industrial city.

The 1 km section from Balsan Station to Magok Station will be developed as Magok Cultural Street, featuring a cultural park, VR experience zone, and a free market zone. The Green and Cultural Zone, centered around Magok Central Plaza and Seoul Botanical Garden, will allow everyone to enjoy nature within the city.

The area from Balsan Station toward Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station will be developed as a Business and Cultural Zone where employees of companies located in Magok District can relax and relieve stress.

Additionally, the History and Cultural Zone, connecting Gangseo-gu’s representative cultural facilities?Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum and Heo Jun Museum?will offer street museums and museums through AR experiences.

Mayor Noh Hyun-song stated, “Since the Magok District revitalization project cannot be achieved in a short period, it is very important to promote it through interdepartmental collaboration. We will steadily carry out the Magok Cultural Street revitalization project to create a Magok District that everyone wants to visit.”
