Southeast Tourism Headquarters Hosts Autumn Travel Event
Travel Expenses Supported with 50,000 KRW per Person... Vlog Contest Also Held
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Southeast Regional Tourism Headquarters, a control tower handling tourism affairs at the metropolitan government level in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, has stepped up efforts to attract tourists.
The Tourism Headquarters has prepared two special events, such as providing travel expense support and holding contests, to draw tourists to the Bu-Ul-Gyeong region.
The first event is "Traveling Bu-Ul-Gyeong for a Week - Sabujak Bu-Ul-Gyeong," and the "40-Day Bug Zone Tour - Vlog Contest" will also be held starting from the 13th.
The word "Sabujak" in the first event is a Gyeongsang-do dialect meaning "gently" or "lightly," implying doing something without much effort.
"Traveling Bu-Ul-Gyeong for a Week - Sabujak Bu-Ul-Gyeong" is a project that selects travelers wishing to visit Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam and supports their travel expenses.
Travel expenses are provided for traveling at least 2 days and up to 7 days in one or more of the three regions: Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. The support is 50,000 KRW per person per day.
Applications are accepted by email until the 26th, and selected participants must post travel photos and reviews on their own SNS after the trip.
The "40-Day Bug Zone Tour - Vlog Contest" requires participants to create travel content based on five given themes?healing, killing, experience, hidden attractions, and freedom?by linking major tourist spots and restaurants in the Bug Zone for at least one night and two days across two or more cities or provinces.
Video submissions should be within 5 minutes, along with a summary video within 30 seconds. Winners will be selected through an internal review and awarded prize money and certificates in this new event.
Individuals or teams using YouTube or SNS can apply. The contest is divided into youth and general categories, with one first-place winner in each receiving the Korea Tourism Organization President’s Award along with prize money of 2 million KRW and 5 million KRW, respectively.
The first round of judging involves quantitative evaluation based on comments, likes, views, and subscriber counts, followed by expert judging on creativity, topicality, artistry, and promotional value. Winners will be notified individually by the end of September. Applications and other documents should be submitted to the Southeast Regional Tourism Headquarters.
Detailed information is available on the websites of each Bu-Ul-Gyeong city and province as well as the Southeast Regional Tourism Headquarters.
The headquarters plans to actively respond to the tourism trend shifting toward individual travelers after COVID-19 by attracting SNS-generation tourists who pursue their own uniqueness to the Southeast region through this event.
A representative of the headquarters said, "We hope to widely promote the image of Bu-Ul-Gyeong as a safe and pleasant travel destination and its hidden attractions."
