[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] Kim Woong, a member of the United Future Party, retorted, "If the people trying to rebuild are the deep-rooted evils, then what about Professor Cho Kuk?" This is interpreted as a criticism of the government's reconstruction policy, referring to the Samik Apartment in Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, where former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk currently resides, which is undergoing reconstruction.

On the 11th, Kim wrote on his Facebook, "Due to the recent heavy rain, 554 households in the Olympic Village apartments experienced a power outage," adding, "Even when trying to rebuild old and dangerous apartments, all sorts of regulations block the way. The result is a large-scale power outage."

He continued, "Did reconstruction raise housing prices? Then why are housing prices soaring under this administration that suppresses reconstruction?" and pointed out, "The administration raised housing prices, so why must all the responsibility fall on the people? If the people trying to rebuild are the deep-rooted evils, then what about Professor Cho Kuk?"

Meanwhile, the Samik Apartment in Bangbae-dong, where former Minister Cho owns a 151㎡ unit, received project implementation approval in May last year.

Earlier, Daelim Industrial announced in May that it was selected as the construction company for the apartment's reconstruction. The new complex will be named 'Acro Ritz County,' demolishing the existing 15-story, 408-unit buildings and constructing new residential facilities and commercial spaces consisting of 8 buildings ranging from 5 basement floors to 27 above-ground floors, totaling 721 units.
