Incentives Awarded to Overtime Employees and Night Shift Grievance Listening to Boost Staff Morale... Providing Resident-Customized Civil Service with 3 Days a Week, 2 Hours Overtime to Enhance Civil Service Convenience
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yu Deok-yeol) is receiving great responses by operating extended working hours three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.) at the comprehensive civil service office to facilitate civil complaints for residents who find it difficult to visit during weekday working hours and to provide customized civil service.
At 6:20 p.m. on the 11th, Mayor Yu Deok-yeol of Dongdaemun-gu headed to the comprehensive civil service office on the first floor of the district office. This was to encourage the staff of the comprehensive civil service office who have been continuing extended working hours without interruption despite the unprecedented situation of COVID-19.
Mayor Yu awarded incentives to encourage the efforts of employees who worked hard to provide high-quality civil administrative services and had an honest conversation about the difficulties and working conditions experienced during extended working hours.
Mayor Yu emphasized the importance of increasingly diverse and complex public service tasks and asked for the provision of high-quality civil services that satisfy civil petitioners with a sincere and proactive attitude.
A resident who used the comprehensive civil service office during the extended hours that day said, “It is difficult to find time during the day due to work, and especially these days, it was uneasy to visit during the crowded daytime because of COVID-19, but it is convenient to use the civil service office in the evening after work,” expressing satisfaction with the operation of extended working hours at the comprehensive civil service office.
The district holds regular meetings with civil service staff working on the front lines of administration to encourage their efforts, actively reflects their suggestions to improve the civil service office environment, and strives to create a happy civil service culture.
Yu Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “I appreciate the efforts of the comprehensive civil service office staff who have continued extended working hours without interruption despite COVID-19,” and added, “Since employees must be happy to provide high-quality civil services, we will continue to strive to create a good working environment and a vibrant workplace culture in the civil service office.”
