[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] It has been revealed that the captain of the Russian fishing vessel Yeongjin607 (Busan case number 170), who was among eight maritime workers confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), visited the quarantine location of an acquaintance, Gyeongnam case number 164.


Busan City health authorities announced on the 11th that epidemiological investigations revealed that Busan case number 170, along with case number 171, visited an apartment in Sasang-gu, Busan, which was the quarantine location of Gyeongnam case number 164, from the 23rd to the 24th of last month.


Busan City stated, "GPS tracking investigations showed that cases 160 and 171 stayed for a certain period at the quarantine location of Gyeongnam case number 164," and added, "We plan to take legal action against case number 164 and others after collecting various evidence."


Meanwhile, Gyeongnam case number 164 has been confirmed to work in the port industry. This confirmed case stayed on an Argentine vessel from the end of last year, traveled through Uruguay and Brazil, departed from Qatar, and entered the country on the 14th of last month.
