Gokseong Police Conduct Volunteer Activities to Restore Flood-Damaged Homes

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Gokseong Police Station in Jeonnam announced on the 11th that they carried out restoration activities for flood-damaged houses in Daepyeong-ri, Gokseong-eup, on the 10th due to heavy rain.

Despite the rain that day, the Gokseong police actively engaged in restoration efforts by bringing personal cargo vehicles and, during the activities, found a gold stone ring weighing 3 don, which they returned to the victim, creating a heartwarming moment.

About 30 police officers and conscripted policemen participated in the restoration activities that day, organizing discarded items such as home appliances and furniture from the damaged houses.

During the process, feeling a severe shortage of cargo vehicles, one participant brought an additional cargo vehicle from their own home, enabling rapid restoration work on the damaged houses within a short time.

A police officer who attended the volunteer work said, “While organizing discarded items, we found a gold stone ring weighing 3 don in a wardrobe of one house and returned it to the victim. Returning such items to those affected by the heavy rain brought great comfort and help in difficult times, and I am glad.”
