Gokseong-gun to Conduct 2020 Community Health Survey Starting from the 16th

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gokseong-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 11th that it will conduct the 2020 Community Health Survey targeting adult households and individuals aged 19 and over from the 16th to October 31st.

The Community Health Survey is conducted to carry out essential public health projects for local residents based on regional health statistics. The survey covers a wide range of topics including basic statistics such as residents' blood pressure, height, and weight, health behaviors (smoking, drinking, etc.), disease status, and medical service utilization.

Since the survey is conducted jointly by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, and 255 public health centers, it is used as nationally approved statistics.

The survey targets adults aged 19 and over among sample household members, with approximately 900 people surveyed per public health center on average.

Community health surveyors affiliated with public health centers visit and conduct one-on-one interviews, and participants can receive a small token of appreciation (gift certificate).

This year, to minimize contact due to COVID-19, physical measurements will not be taken, and the number of questions has been reduced by half compared to last year to minimize face-to-face time.

A public health official said, “Community health statistics produced through residents' participation are actively used to establish and evaluate essential public health projects in the region. We ask for your active cooperation when surveyors visit.”
