Sancheong County Governor Conducts Emergency On-Site Safety Inspection Ahead of Typhoon Jangmi's Northward Approach

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is making every effort to prevent damage by conducting emergency on-site safety inspections in preparation for the northward approach of Typhoon 'Jangmi.'

On the 10th, Lee Jae-geun, the head of Sancheong-gun, inspected various disaster-prone areas within the region along with officials from related departments to prevent and respond to disasters.

On that day, the county head checked two sites including a steep slope collapse risk area maintenance project site, two mountain forest burning areas, Daewonsa Valley, Jeoho Drainage Pump Station, and the parking lot on the embankment of Sinan Wonji.

The on-site inspection team comprehensively checked various aspects such as the drainage status of disaster-prone project sites in preparation for the typhoon and heavy rain, the evacuation status of mountain forest burning areas, the operation and management status of drainage pumps, emergency power facilities, and distribution panels at Jeoho Drainage Pump Station, safety inspections for vacationers at Daewonsa Valley, and control status of lowland parking lots.

Lee Jae-geun, head of Sancheong-gun, emphasized, “Although this typhoon is relatively small in scale, the ground is weakened due to the monsoon season, so even a small amount of rain could cause damage. Therefore, thorough preparation is necessary,” and added, “I ask everyone to pay special attention to facility management and safety accidents for the safety of the residents.”

Meanwhile, the county held a situation assessment meeting at the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to prepare measures in response to this monsoon season.
