[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] The Korea Automobile Tuning Industry Association announced on the 10th that it signed a business agreement on the 7th with the UK Department for Transport's Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA Korea), the first domestic tuning parts certification body, to mutually cooperate in the fields of domestic and international certification testing and issuance of certificates for tuning cars and tuning parts.
Through this business agreement, the two organizations agreed to cooperate in ▲ domestic and international certification testing of tuning cars and issuance of domestic and European certificates ▲ domestic and international certification testing of tuning parts and issuance of domestic and European certificates ▲ mutual exchange of tuning-related information domestically and internationally ▲ joint research on technical inspection standards and certification systems related to tuning.
VCA Korea is a vehicle and automotive parts certification body operating worldwide, including Europe. Recently, it has been providing overseas certification testing and certificate issuance services for export companies dealing with camping cars, trailers, tuning cars, and tuning parts.
With this agreement, the Korea Automobile Tuning Industry Association will undertake group quality certification work for automobiles and tuning parts. Based on international-level certification standards, it will perform certification tasks that satisfy both the domestic market and export market for domestic tuning car and tuning parts manufacturers.
Professor Kim Pil-soo of Daelim University, who serves as the chairman of the Korea Automobile Tuning Industry Association, said, “The current tuning parts certification system may contribute to revitalizing the domestic market, but it has limitations in targeting large overseas markets. Tuning cars and tuning parts that pass the group quality certification standards prepared by the association this time will have international-level quality competitiveness, greatly contributing to increasing corporate sales and creating jobs.”
