[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Jo] Demand for cleansing products such as facial cleansers and body washes increases during the summer monsoon season when sebum secretion becomes active. During the monsoon season, high humidity causes fine dust and harmful substances in the air to easily adhere to the skin, and prolonged mask-wearing exposes the skin to an environment where mold and bacteria can easily proliferate. As sales of cleansing-related product lines drive growth, beauty companies are accelerating their moves by expanding dedicated lines and product ranges.
Recently, V-commerce beauty platform Wallaview jointly planned and launched the ‘Poclin Aminotics Perfect Cleansing’ trio with global cosmetics distribution company IO&Co Korea. These products are safe for sensitive skin. They provide powerful cleansing effects while excluding 20 harmful ingredients and have completed 24-hour skin irritation tests.
The set consists of cleansing oil, foam, and water. All products contain a complex of 17 amino acids, a probiotic complex of 4 types of lactic acid bacteria, and a complex of 10 vitamins, which simultaneously alleviate the tightness often experienced during cleansing and supply nutrition.
The oil product uses soapwort cleansing ingredients and naturally derived surfactants to thoroughly dissolve impurities deep within the skin. The foam product contains naturally derived ingredients extracted from coconut fruit to reduce skin burden, and its dense microfiber foam cleanses old keratin deep in the pores. The cleansing water is characterized by its ability to cleanse moistly and cleanly without the need for double cleansing.
Body wash products that combine cleansing power with trustworthy ingredients and low irritation are gaining popularity. Shower Mate, a total body care brand operated by Aekyung Industrial, launched two types of ‘Goat Milk Body Wash’ in July, containing oil-rich Dutch goat milk ingredients. It also includes prebiotic ingredients that provide abundant nutrition to the skin and applies milky bubble technology used in facial cleansing foam to help with gentle and moisturizing cleansing.
The ‘Mild M AC Plus Miracle Solution Number One Body Wash,’ released through a collaboration between beauty creator Aria’s beauty brand M Factory and Wallaview, contains plant oils such as bergamot oil and orange peel oil, as well as naturally derived surfactants, helping to maintain moist skin even after cleansing. It also contains salicylic acid, which thoroughly removes sebum, old keratin, and impurities from pores, aiding in the relief of skin troubles.
As consumer interest in scalp and hair care grows alongside facial skin care, the range of shampoo products has also expanded. Especially during the monsoon season with strong UV rays and high humidity, scalp irritation worsens, leading more consumers to seek products with cooling and soothing effects.
Plant science brand Klorane’s ‘Aqua Mint Cool Sebum Dry Shampoo’ features a formula of naturally derived powders such as corn and rice starch and cyclodextrin, which absorb scalp oil, providing a refreshing and matte finish. It also contains aqua mint essential oil, offering a refreshing scalp cooling sensation and helping to cleanse fine dust from the hair.
