COVID-19 Local Infection Confirmed in Gwangju After 5 Days... Total 209 Cases

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 8th, a woman in her 40s, Ms. A, residing in Geumho Town, Hwajeong 2-dong, Seo-gu, was diagnosed with COVID-19, becoming the 209th confirmed case.

Excluding those confirmed while in quarantine due to contact with confirmed cases, this is the first case in 14 days.

Ms. A developed a fever starting on the 5th and was tested at the Seo-gu Public Health Center screening clinic on the 7th. She has since been transferred to Chosun University Hospital.

The Gwangju city government is focusing on epidemiological investigations to identify Ms. A’s movements and contacts.

Meanwhile, since the second wave of COVID-19 began in Gwangju on the 27th of last month, 176 people have been confirmed positive.

By infection route, there are 40 cases related to Gwangju Sarang Church, 32 cases from Geumyang Officetel, 30 from Ilgok Central Church, 14 from Gwangju Gosi Academy, 14 from a badminton club, 8 from Gwangneuksa Temple, 12 from contact with other cities/provinces (Songpa case 60), 9 from contact with confirmed cases (Gwangju case 192), 12 imported cases, and 4 under investigation.

By age group, there are 5 under 10 years old, 7 in their teens, 7 in their 20s, 14 in their 30s, 24 in their 40s, 39 in their 50s, 46 in their 60s, 21 in their 70s, 8 in their 80s, and 5 in their 90s.
