Landslide Near Deogyusan TG on Daejeon-Tongyeong Expressway... Partial Vehicle Control

[Asia Economy Reporter Je Moon-won] A landslide occurred near Deogyusan TG on the Daejeon-Tongyeong Expressway heading toward Tongyeong, causing partial traffic control.

According to the Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency on the 8th, at around 10:45 a.m. that day, trees on the slope beside the road fell, causing soil to spill onto the road at this location.

There were no casualties or vehicle damages due to the landslide. Korea Expressway Corporation and the police are using equipment to remove the trees and soil.

Initially, the trees and soil completely blocked the road, but vehicles are currently passing through one lane.

Due to the sudden accident, about a 2 km section behind this point is congested with vehicles.

The police are redirecting vehicles from Muju TG to national roads to prevent road congestion.

A police official said, "There was no significant damage from the landslide," and added, "It will take about an hour for the road to return to normal."
