Clean Jeju South Sea... Hotel 'The Grand Seomorum' Reopens After Renovation Exterior view of the new building of 'The Grand Seomoreum' scheduled to open in mid-August

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] 'Hotel Seomoreum,' boasting the beautiful southern sea scenery of Jeju, will reopen this month as 'The Grand Seomoreum.'

DSDL announced on the 8th that its independent hotel brand, Jeju Hotel Seomoreum, will be renewed and reopened as The Grand Seomoreum in mid-month. The family hotel, The Grand Seomoreum, recently completed partial renovation work, equipping a total of 132 rooms, including 53 rooms in the main building and 79 rooms in the new building. It is located at the midpoint of Olle Course 7. It is 15 minutes away from Jungmun Tourist Complex and Seogwipo city center, near Seogwipo Innovation City.

Located at the southern tip of Jeju, The Grand Seomoreum sits in front of Beomseom Island, where Seolmundae Halmang, a figure from Jeju mythology, lay down using Hallasan Mountain as a pillow and stretched out her feet. It boasts an ocean view overlooking Beomseom, Munseom, and Seopseom, which are UNESCO-designated natural protected areas. It is a place where Jeju haenyeo (female divers) dive in the waters in front of the basalt and Jeju dolphins rest.

Guests can also enjoy various hotel amenities. The new building features a large banquet hall, Beomseom Hall, and conference rooms that can accommodate up to 150 business guests. Newly added facilities include an outdoor grand infinity pool with an ocean-view large heated jacuzzi pool, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, all-day dining restaurant Basalt, Sunset Lounge & Bar, and a kids' room. In the main building, guests can use the brunch caf? Seomoreum Caf?, outdoor garden pool, and the library space The Library.

Lee Jung-hoon, General Manager of The Grand Seomoreum, said, "Our hotel's top priority is the safety of our guests and providing happy moments for families and couples," adding, "We hope you fully experience the atmosphere of relaxation with The Grand Seomoreum Hotel."

Meanwhile, DSDL, the hotel operator, plans to take the lead in creating a sustainable, future-oriented eco-friendly hotel. Previously, to reduce plastic use, amenities and operational facilities were selected mainly with bulk containers and eco-friendly materials. Even before opening, they contributed to the local community by donating pet food to Jeju's stray dog shelters. Additionally, they plan to introduce cooperative programs with the cultural and arts sectors, which have been affected by COVID-19, and establish a clean hotel manual to operate a Safe Hotel Safety Promotion.
