Busan Gijang-gun Holds Communication and Empathy Session for Young Entrepreneurs

Active Support for Entrepreneurs in the 'Youth Dream Startup Support Project'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] On the 7th, Gijang-gun, Busan held a meeting with 9 local young entrepreneurs to listen to the difficulties faced by early-stage startups and to have a time of communication and empathy to help them grow into excellent startups.

The young entrepreneurs attending the meeting are participating in the ‘Gijang-gun Youth Dream Startup Support Project’ and are running businesses in various fields such as food products using Gijang seaweed, a local specialty, tactile play products for babies, operation of various play and creative experience spaces, dessert development, leather crafts, development of Gijang design stationery, manufacturing yacht parts, operating agricultural experience learning centers for adults, and assembling IKEA furniture.

Since 2019, Gijang-gun has supported young entrepreneurs with excellent and creative items within Gijang through the ‘Youth Dream Startup Support Project’ by providing startup funds, rental fees for startup spaces, and consulting.

The county aims for co-growth by discovering promising young entrepreneurs to revitalize the local economy and foster excellent companies.

A Gijang-gun official said, “We will continue to create opportunities to gather diverse opinions, seek practical solutions, and strengthen our capabilities to make Gijang-gun a city where young people can start businesses easily.”

Following the enforcement of the Youth Basic Act on August 5, Gijang-gun is in the process of establishing the Gijang-gun Youth Basic Ordinance, the first step in promoting ‘Gijang-type Youth Policy’ to enhance youth rights and expand opportunities for social participation.
