[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Amid Sandbox Network (hereafter Sandbox), a YouTube content company led by YouTuber Doti, apologizing for the undisclosed advertising controversy, a netizen claiming to be a former employee exposed Doti's character.


On the 7th, a netizen claiming to be a former Sandbox employee posted an expos? about Sandbox and Doti on an online community.


The writer said they could not disclose their period of employment, age, or resignation date but shared a photo of a Sandbox employee ID card.


He stated, "Doti, a Yonsei University alumnus, placed mostly alumni in executive positions," adding, "The company is run based on school ties."


Regarding the recent undisclosed advertising controversy involving Doti, he said, "Doti is the CCO, so he must have known about Sandbox members doing undisclosed ads," and added, "He himself has done undisclosed ads, but since the audience is young, it didn't become an issue."

The netizen also claimed, "When this issue broke out, I heard Doti stepped down from frontline management, but since he holds shares and is a co-founder, everyone fawned over him when he came to the company," and continued, "To the extent that when necessary, he gave out the company credit card and ordered a professional female designer or a well-dressed male employee to buy clothes for him during working hours. This was not a secret request but was done in front of all the employees."


He added, "Doti switched from a yellow Porsche to a Ferrari and went out to have fun. He gave lectures and did everything in crowded places," and said, "It's not about how he spends his own money. The problem is that he did this during the period he claimed to have panic disorder."


He further stated, "They claim in the media that the company grows together with creators, but even after Doti said he had panic disorder and quit YouTube, he was built up as a successful entrepreneur and is active in the entertainment industry," and added, "He said 'YouTube is stressful,' but I don't understand why he pretends to be noble or sacrifices himself for the YouTube ecosystem when he just doesn't want to work."

The netizen wrote, "I have not seen (Doti's) real private life for sure and left out many things to avoid distracting from the main point," and added, "He is famous among female employees. If you're a man in your 30s, of course, you should enjoy yourself or something like that."


Earlier, ChamPD, who runs the YouTube channel AjujaTV, sparked controversy by targeting Doti and Sandbox Network during a live broadcast discussing undisclosed advertising on YouTube. In response, Sandbox apologized for the 'undisclosed advertising' controversy that day.


Sandbox is an MCN company founded in 2014 by Doti and CEO Lee Pil-sung, with many YouTubers such as broadcaster Yoo Byung-jae, Kapichu, Ambro, and Jangbbijju affiliated.
