‘Holiday Lightning Market’ at Busan Station ... Showcasing Products from Busan Companies Busan City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City and the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center will hold the ‘Summer Vacation, Busan Station Win-Win Market’ in the 2nd-floor waiting room of Busan Station from the 7th to the 31st.

At this 25-day ‘Lightning Market,’ various products such as souvenirs, shoes, various daily necessities, and idea products will welcome shoppers.

A total of 25 small business owners and SMEs participated, including 13 local companies such as Daehyeonsanghoe, a local sesame oil manufacturing company affected by recent heavy rain flooding, and 9 representative Busan souvenir companies.

This sales event was prepared through the collaboration of Busan City, the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center, and KORAIL Distribution to help promote products and develop sales channels for local SMEs struggling due to the prolonged economic downturn caused by the spread of COVID-19.

This market is set up in Busan Station, where many travelers visit during the summer vacation period, and is expected to have a significant effect on sales and promotion.

KORAIL Distribution, a public institution, is also seeking ways to contribute to the local community and promote win-win cooperation by opening pop-up stores handling local company products, starting with this special sales event.

In addition to this special sales event, the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center has been operating ‘I’m Shopping,’ a dedicated sales store for SME products, in the 2nd-floor waiting room of Busan Station since 2013.

Busan City plans to complete the establishment of ‘Dongbaek Sanghoe,’ a shopping shop for excellent Busan products, at the Busan Station Eurasia Platform within this year to support smooth market entry and sales promotion of innovative products.

Kim Yoon-il, Director of the Job Economy Office of Busan City, said, “I hope this special exhibition will be a starting point for new sales channels for local SMEs struggling due to COVID-19.”
