Apply at your local community center from August 10-14... Work 5 days a week from September 1 to November 30 with an hourly wage of 8,590 KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting participants for the ‘2020 COVID-19 Overcome Hope Job Second Project’ to support the livelihoods of Geumcheon-gu residents facing unemployment and business suspension or closure due to the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.
Through this project, the district will provide public jobs to 1,437 people across 10 fields including ▲daily quarantine support ▲support for recovery of local markets and small business owners ▲improvement of cultural and artistic environments ▲disaster prevention ▲youth support.
Eligibility includes Geumcheon-gu residents aged 18 or older with working ability who are low-income, disabled, marriage immigrants, female heads of households, or other vulnerable employment groups, as well as those who have experienced unemployment or business closure due to COVID-19 and need livelihood support due to the local economic downturn. However, full-time direct job project participants, those with overlapping participation dates in other projects, families of public officials (including private school staff), and those without working ability are restricted from participating.
Residents wishing to participate can apply by visiting their local community service center with the Hope Job Project application form, job application form, ID, and other related documents from August 10 to 14. Application forms can be downloaded from the ‘Notices and Announcements’ section on the district’s website.
The district will review selection criteria such as assets, income, number of public job participations, vulnerability to employment, and restrictions, and announce the selected candidates on August 27 on the Geumcheon-gu Office website.
Selected residents will work at each project site from September 1 to November 30. The principle is 5 hours per day (3 hours per day for those aged 65 or older), 5 days a week, with an hourly wage of 8,590 KRW.
Meanwhile, in July, the district implemented the first Hope Job Project to support residents facing economic difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, providing jobs to 339 people.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope that residents facing difficulties due to COVID-19 can alleviate their economic hardships even a little through the Hope Job Project,” and added, “We will continue to expand diverse and sustainable jobs in the region not only through public jobs such as the Hope Job Project but also through public-private cooperation to overcome local employment difficulties.”
For more details, please check the recruitment announcement in the ‘Notices and Announcements’ section on the district’s website or contact the Job Creation Division of Geumcheon-gu Office for guidance.
