Busan Port Authority Provides 25 Million KRW Support for Smart Operation System Construction and Innovation Consulting
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Port Authority (BPA) has finalized the selection of five companies eligible for support under the ‘Busan Port Smart Factory Establishment Support Project,’ which has been promoted since last month to support manufacturing innovation of small and medium-sized partner companies at Busan Port in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era.
The Smart Factory Establishment Support Project is a system designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises at Busan Port introduce various forms of smart factories to create new growth engines.
Busan Port Authority recruited participating companies through a public contest from July 14 to July 27. A total of eight companies participated in the contest.
The authority, together with the Korea Standards Association, conducted company evaluations and selection procedures, ultimately selecting five companies in total, including those in warehousing and manufacturing industries.
The selected companies will receive smart factory operation system establishment and innovation consulting through the Korea Standards Association for four months from this month to November, with approximately 25 million KRW supported per company for consulting.
Nam Ki-chan, President of BPA, said, “We hope that small and medium-sized enterprises at Busan Port, which have been struggling since COVID-19, will turn the crisis into an opportunity through manufacturing innovation.”
