'Public Officials Must Deliver Results for Salary Increase'... Gyeongju City Conducts Midterm Evaluation of 'Job Performance'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongju City conducted the '2020 Mid-term Evaluation of Job Performance Contract Tasks' over two days on the 5th and 6th to improve job competency and foster a performance-oriented working culture among public officials.

This mid-term evaluation was carried out through interviews and assessments by the 'Gyeongju City Work Evaluation Committee,' composed of external experts in various fields, regarding the 316 job performance contract tasks signed earlier this year with 94 senior officials at levels 4 and 5, along with consulting on the direction of project plans.

Gyeongju City will conduct awards for departments and public officials with outstanding project performance through the year-end final evaluation, and reflect the results in the 2021 salary determination for heads of national, branch, and headquarters offices, as well as department heads and eup/myeon/dong chiefs.

Deputy Mayor Lee Young-seok stated, "Through the mid-term evaluation of job performance contract tasks, we will thoroughly analyze and supplement any issues, and establish a working atmosphere within the public service based on objective evaluations according to job and performance, thereby fostering a systematic, performance-centered organizational culture."
