[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Galaxy Unpacked event, held online for the first time in history, focused on substance over scale and extravagance. Global Galaxy fans connected via video call to decorate the virtual stage, and Samsung Electronics' Wireless Business Division employees appeared as presenters to share technology and philosophy.

On the 5th, Samsung Electronics held Galaxy Unpacked 2020 online. Most of the main speakers were employees working at Samsung Electronics' Suwon and Umyeon campuses. Federico Casalegno, Executive Vice President of the Wireless Business Division Experience Planning Team, took charge of the event presentation. Additionally, Mary Lee, in charge of Strategy & Partnerships for the Wireless Business Division, Adrian Wilson from the Marketing Team, and Yoonie Park, responsible for Brand Marketing, appeared as presenters.

For the first time at this Unpacked event, developers and designers responsible for the Galaxy Note20 explained the technology through video. The S Pen of the Note20 Ultra reduced latency to 9ms and incorporated point prediction technology that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to anticipate the pen's trajectory, minimizing response time. Kang Byung-hoon, a pro in the Wireless Business Division Display Group who introduced the S Pen technology of the Galaxy Note20, explained, "Our goal is to provide users with a better pen usage experience," adding, "We applied AI-based software technology to improve latency."

Galaxy brand ambassadors popular among the millennial generation, such as BTS and gamer MYTH, also appeared at the event, generating interest. In particular, BTS opened the Galaxy Z Fold2 box themselves and showed scenes of the members taking selfies together. The members expressed admiration, saying, "This is innovation." Musician Khalid introduced features via video, such as linking the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Note20 to share notes and converting recorded voice into text.

About 300 Samsung Members participated as guests in the Galaxy Unpacked event via video call. Products were introduced using augmented reality (AR) technology, and guests actively responded in real time. The event was broadcast not only on Samsung Electronics' official website and YouTube but also on domestic online open markets such as Coupang, 11st, and eBay. Immediately after the event, sales of the 'Galaxy Buds Live' and 'Galaxy Watch3' products began.
