Assemblyman Lee Hyung-seok Secures Budget for 'Gwangju Buk-gu Comprehensive Gymnasium Construction Project'

Lee Hyung-seok, a member of the National Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea, Gwangju Buk-gu Eul), announced on the 5th that he secured a budget of 1.2 billion KRW for the "Construction of Buk-gu Comprehensive Gymnasium in Gwangju Metropolitan City," a pledge from the 21st general election, through a special grant.

Currently, about 440,000 people, accounting for 33% of Gwangju's population, reside in Buk-gu, and approximately 100,000 sports enthusiasts are active in 34 sports disciplines and over 500 clubs.

However, the available sports facilities are absolutely insufficient compared to the population engaged in recreational sports.

Lee said, "I am pleased that securing the budget for the Buk-gu Comprehensive Gymnasium will allow us to expand infrastructure that local sports enthusiasts, whose interest in recreational sports is increasing, can use," adding, "I hope that from now on, all residents can conveniently use the facilities and enjoy a healthy leisure life."

He continued, "All of this was possible thanks to the generous support and encouragement of local residents," emphasizing, "As a member of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee and the representative of Gwangju Buk-gu Eul, I will do my best to resolve local issues."
