Bucheon City Delivers Lunchboxes to Elementary Children in Dual-Income and Single-Parent Families

'Visiting Work-Life Balance Lunch Box'... First-Come, First-Served Applications Until the 10th

Bucheon City Delivers Lunchboxes to Elementary Children in Dual-Income and Single-Parent Families Bucheon City Hall

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province delivers lunchboxes to elementary school children from dual-income and single-parent families who have to eat lunch alone during the summer vacation through the 'Visiting Work-Life Balance Lunchbox' project.

The 'Visiting Work-Life Balance Lunchbox' is part of Bucheon City's women-friendly work-life balance regional specialization project.

It is planned to be operated on a pilot basis to alleviate the care burden of dual-income and single-parent families, which has worsened due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and to promote the health of elementary school children.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the 10th for working parents (dual-income and single-parent families) with elementary school children, excluding those already receiving meal support.

About 50 people will be selected, and support is available for up to two elementary school children per family. If selected, lunchboxes will be provided up to about 10 times from the 18th to the 31st.

For more details, contact the Bucheon City Women's Center Work-Life Balance Support Project Team at 032-324-6670.

A Bucheon City official stated, "We hope this project will become a new model that provides balanced lunches to elementary school children and creates an environment where working parents can work with peace of mind without worrying about childcare."

Meanwhile, Bucheon City is promoting the 'Gyeonggi-do Work-Life Balance Regional Specialization Project' to help workers balance work and life, and is conducting various projects such as visiting counseling, digital face-to-face evening lectures, and housekeeping support services for working parents struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
