[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Sancheong Cultural Arts Center in Gyeongnam will host the Seodo Sorig play "Hyangdugye Nori" by the Hyangdugye Nori Preservation Society.

This "Hyangdugye Nori" is evaluated as a performance that well captures the true meaning of the village cooperative, a community that helps each other beyond individual life.

It also vividly depicts the lives of common people and uses the Pyeongan-do dialect as it is, evoking a sense of local flavor and nostalgia.

In particular, it faithfully portrays the four seasons embedded in agricultural culture, showing the simple life of an agrarian society?sowing seeds, planting rice seedlings, weeding, and harvesting in autumn?through representative Seodo Sori songs such as Ginea-ri, Susimga, Nanbongga, and straightforward folk songs like Homitaryeong and Homuga.

The traditional "Hyangdugye Nori," performed continuously, was recognized for its artistic value and purpose of preserving and promoting tradition, and was designated as Pyeongannam-do Intangible Cultural Property No. 2 in 2009.

It received the Presidential Award at the 54th Korean Folk Arts Festival in 2019.

This performance is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, and organized by the Sancheong Cultural Arts Center and Culture Bank.
