Gunsan Time Travel Festival Goes 'Gadak' with Non-Face-to-Face Event

Decision to Cancel Considering COVID-19 Citizen Safety

Gunsan Time Travel Festival Goes 'Gadak' with Non-Face-to-Face Event Gunsan City Hall

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] Gunsan City, Jeonbuk, has canceled this year's Gunsan Time Travel Festival to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of its citizens.

On the 5th, the city announced that considering the ongoing occurrence of COVID-19 cases in the metropolitan area and concerns about a second large-scale outbreak in the second half of the year, it has canceled the Gunsan Time Travel Festival scheduled for October and will hold promotional events instead.

However, the city plans to maintain the continuity of the Time Travel Festival and actively continue promotion by preparing an online non-face-to-face contest reflecting on past Gunsan Time Travel Festivals and events suitable for staying at home.

Additionally, the city plans to expand infrastructure to provide various attractions to visitors by continuously installing sculptures and holding promotional events in the Time Travel Village area, the festival venue.

A Gunsan city official said, “In preparation for the post-COVID-19 era, we will do our best to prepare differentiated and substantial content unique to the Gunsan Time Travel Festival, along with ensuring citizens' safety, to organize a solid festival next year.”

Meanwhile, detailed program information such as future online events can be found on the Gunsan Time Travel Festival website.
