Somhaein Breaks Up with Same-Sex Partner: "Decided to Go Our Separate Ways"

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Singer Somhaein announced her breakup with her same-sex partner.

On the 4th, Somhaein posted a long message on her Instagram starting with the sentence, "I thought a lot about how to convey this, and I am leaving this message," along with a photo of the night sky background.

Somhaein continued, "I decided to stop walking the path I was on with the friend I dated publicly for the first time and to support each other as we go our separate ways," revealing that she recently broke up with her same-sex partner whom she had been dating since July last year.

She also said, "That friend is not someone active in the screen or entertainment industry, and since my coming out and relationship became widely known, many people showed interest, so I thought it was right to inform you all by posting this message."

She added, "We are just returning to our original places; that friend will be in their place, and I will continue to work hard in mine," and concluded the message by thanking those who supported and showed interest in her relationship.

Meanwhile, Somhaein gained recognition through the Mnet variety show 'Idol School' in 2017 and has been active as a singer, releasing albums such as 'Mini Radio' and 'Same Here.'
