Jangsu-gun Selected as Outstanding City/County for Local Tax Collection Performance in the First Half of the Year

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Go Dallyoung] Jangsu-gun has been selected as an excellent county in the '2020 First Half Local Tax Delinquency Collection Performance' evaluation and will receive a project fund of 10 million KRW.

According to Jangsu-gun on the 4th, in the evaluation of local tax delinquency collection performance conducted by Jeollabuk-do targeting 14 cities and counties, Jangsu-gun received excellent evaluations across all areas including delinquent tax collection rate, license plate seizure, and auction performance.

The county has set a period for comprehensive delinquent tax cleanup and has carried out strong collection activities such as customized collection reflecting the living conditions of individual delinquents, responsible collection management for high-amount delinquents, and strengthened field visits for out-of-area delinquents.

The county plans to continuously carry out collection activities for future imposed local taxes not only to ensure fairness with sincere taxpayers but also to expand autonomous revenue sources.

Director Hong Doopyo said, “In the second half of the year, we plan to seek personalized collection techniques through multifaceted analysis of chronic delinquents’ reasons and provide special management. We will actively promote administrative sanctions such as public disclosure of high-amount delinquents’ names and restrictions on licensed businesses to expand local tax revenue and create a sound tax payment atmosphere.”
