[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Due to heavy rain causing the water level of the Han River to rise, traffic on some sections of the Olympic-daero in Seoul was restricted on the 3rd.

According to the Seoul City traffic information system on the 3rd, from around 1:15 PM, both directions of Olympic-daero from Yeomchang IC to Dongjak Bridge have been completely closed.

A Seoul city official stated, "Due to continuous rainfall, the discharge from Paldang Dam has increased to 13,033 tons per second, causing the Han River water level to rise," and requested detours.

The entry to Dongbu Expressway, which has been closed since around 5:10 AM, remains restricted. However, the section from Nokcheon Bridge to Surak Underpass in the Uijeongbu direction has been partially reopened.

The Oetongbu Underpass in Jongno-gu, Seoul, was closed to entry from 9:10 AM but was reopened at 10:45 AM.

Jamsu Bridge, which has been closed to vehicle entry since 5:20 PM the previous day, had its water level rise to 8.63 meters as of 2:10 PM on the same day. Jamsu Bridge becomes completely submerged when the water level reaches 6.5 meters.
