[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] The distribution industry is fiercely competing in marketing to target the summer peak season market. Especially, with the continuous replacement of new faces, it truly resembles a war of advertising models.


According to related industries on the 1st, Baskin-Robbins, operated by BR Korea, a subsidiary of SPC Group, chose BTS, who receives the most love calls in the industry, to target this summer’s market. Baskin-Robbins released the TV commercial ‘BTS is Bera’ featuring BTS starting today.


The ‘BTS is Bera’ TV commercial humorously depicts everyday scenes where BTS members converse using the names of Baskin-Robbins’ popular menu items such as ‘Mom is an Alien,’ ‘Almond Bong Bong Bong,’ and ‘Jjon Tteok Gung Hap’.


The commercial consists of three episodes, released sequentially on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th. ▲ The ‘Rhyme Play’ episode features RM and Suga conversing with rhymes like ‘Will you pick Cherry Jubilee?’ ▲ The ‘Word Chain’ episode shows J-Hope and V starting with ‘Bera’ (short for Baskin-Robbins) and continuing with ‘Raspberry Sorbet,’ ‘Very Berry Strawberry,’ and more ▲ The ‘Feigning Ignorance Conversation’ episode features Jimin and Jungkook having everyday conversations using Baskin-Robbins product names like ‘Mom is an alien,’ ‘No, Dad is Dalbabong.’


All videos conclude with the new product ‘Bora Bora’ ice cream, which Baskin-Robbins will launch as the flavor of the month in August. The TV commercials capturing BTS’s sweet charm will be aired on cable TV, local terrestrial channels, and the official YouTube channel.


An SPC Group Baskin-Robbins representative said, “We planned a cheerful concept video advertisement using BTS’s charm and Baskin-Robbins’ unique product names. We ask for much interest in the August flavor of the month ice cream ‘Bora Bora,’ which will be released simultaneously with the TV commercial.”


The new flavor of the month, ‘Bora Bora’ ice cream, is a product combining four different ice creams, marking the first time for Baskin-Robbins and the most flavors combined in any Baskin-Robbins product to date.

Innisfree has selected actor Ahn Hyo-seop as its brand model and is actively marketing by releasing the ‘Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2X’ advertisement. Ahn Hyo-seop is a trending actor who played the role of Seo Woo-jin in the recently concluded SBS drama Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 2 and won the Best New Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards for his impressive performance.


Recently, behind-the-scenes photos from the first advertising campaign video shoot for ‘Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2X’ were released. In the photos, Ahn Hyo-seop showed a refreshing and youthful expression and demonstrated professionalism by actively monitoring the shoot between takes. Changing into neat shirts and comfortable hoodies, he brightened the atmosphere on set with various expressions and lively smiles.


In the previously released commercial video, Ahn Hyo-seop transformed into a pore hero who rescues troubled pores by removing blackheads and sebum and thoroughly cleanses pores with a refreshing water stream, humorously introducing the efficacy of ‘Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2X.’


An Innisfree representative said, “We expect that actor Ahn Hyo-seop’s clean and healthy image will create good synergy with Innisfree.” Ahn Hyo-seop said, “I am happy to join as a model for Korea’s representative natural cosmetics brand Innisfree.
