Integrated construction company Utap Group announced on the 31st that it will open the largest complex smart hotel in the city with a unique concept, rapidly emerging as a new ‘Untact’ vacation spot in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.
Utap Group will open the 31-story Gwangju Utap Boutique Hotel & Residences in the commercial center of Gwangju, Sangmu District, on August 1, marking the start of the peak summer vacation season and officially welcoming customers.
The Gwangju Utap Boutique Hotel & Residences plans to offer various entertainment options, convenience facilities, and services for tourists planning a hotel vacation (hotel + vacation) in the Jeonnam city center during their holiday period, allowing them to enjoy a pleasant time even during a short stay. Especially, with the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, it is expected to become a popular vacation destination for people of all ages seeking untact vacation spots.
The rooms at Gwangju Utap Boutique Hotel & Residences are divided into 11 types, offering a variety of room types including double rooms, twin rooms, triple rooms, suites, and ondol rooms preferred by families with infants, providing the advantage of accommodating guests according to family composition or preference.
Customer-tailored themed rooms are also noteworthy. There are sweet romance suites for couples celebrating Valentine’s Day, White Day, or proposals, as well as stylish sweet party rooms for pajama parties, bridal showers, and birthday parties, making it perfect for spending a special day with friends, family, or lovers.
In the suite rooms, KT’s AI speaker Giga Genie is connected, enabling voice-controlled remote operation, Genie Music playback, and Bluetooth speaker use. Additionally, the latest VR devices and Nintendo consoles can be rented, allowing guests to enjoy various activities comfortably without boredom even inside the room. Furthermore, all rooms are equipped with smart TVs with internet connectivity, enabling a smart untact vacation.
Moreover, during the hot summer vacation period, there is no need to wander the city looking for good restaurants. The hotel will feature Korea’s first and largest ‘The Born Food Street,’ consisting of six brands from The Born Korea, led by cooking researcher Baek Jong-won, including Bonga, Rolling Pasta, Baek’s Beer, Mijeong Noodles, and more.
Notably, guests can order food from ‘The Born Food Street’ via a mobile application for delivery, attracting attention. Additionally, ‘Untact room service’ is available, allowing guests to order items from the ‘Emart24 Reserve’ store by phone and have them delivered directly to their rooms, enabling even those who do not want to step outside their rooms during their vacation to relax comfortably.
There are also impressive smart untact services. The hotel has introduced a 4-way check-in system combining face-to-face and non-face-to-face services to reduce check-in and check-out times and enhance customer convenience. Guests can obtain room keys through unmanned kiosks, and after mobile app check-in, they can open doors without a room key. If the non-face-to-face system is difficult to use, guests can still receive room keys directly at the front desk. Also, if the front desk is crowded, check-in is possible via kiosks located at the Emart24 convenience store inside the hotel.
Gu Ja-hyung, head of Utap Group’s hotel business division, said, “Due to this year’s social distancing campaign, trips with friends, family trips, and honeymooners that were postponed can now enjoy premium services for a safe healing time in the city.” He added, “As a state-of-the-art complex smart hotel, we will strive to provide a perfect time with clean facilities and services.”
Meanwhile, Gwangju Utap Boutique Hotel & Residences is located in Chipyeong-dong, Gwangju Metropolitan City, about a 5-minute drive from Uncheon Station and Sangmu Station on Gwangju Subway Line 1. It is also close to convenience facilities such as Gwangju City Hall, Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, large supermarkets, and cinemas, making it convenient for tourists and businesspeople visiting Gwangju.
