[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 29th, Jeong Jin-seok, a member of the Future United Party, targeted the government and ruling party, stating, "Let us start a struggle to show an example of what happens when power confronts the people."

Jeong said on Facebook that day, "They did not hesitate to engage in political manipulation and state affairs corruption to show an example of what happens when the prosecution's investigation confronts power."

He criticized, "There has never been a government and ruling party as arrogant and presumptuous as this one," adding, "It seems that the current government ministers cannot see the National Assembly or the people."

He continued, "The outrageous remarks of Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae, which could only be seen in the era of monarchies, are now directed at the people," and added, "Even Democratic Party leader Lee Hae-chan joined in. Before the last general election, he described Busan as 'shabby,' and now he calls Seoul a 'vulgar city.' It really leaves one speechless."

Jeong pointed out, "These days, the ridicule and abusive language from the ruling party leadership and ministers feel almost normal," and said, "It seems the National Assembly has unwittingly become a playground for mockery and sarcasm."

Jeong also criticized, "How was the first confirmation hearing after the April 15 general election? The confirmation reports for the candidates for Minister of Unification and Director of the National Intelligence Service were approved solely by the ruling party without opposition members' participation," adding, "At this rate, it might be better to abolish the confirmation hearing system altogether."

Jeong said, "In three standing committees?the Finance Committee, Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, and the Public Administration and Security Committee?13 bills including real estate tax laws were suddenly submitted and forcibly passed without consultation with the opposition, skipping the bill review subcommittee," and added, "Those intoxicated with power seem to have forgotten that arrogance is punished and that public sentiment is formidable."
