[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Yong-jun] Seoul Sky, the observation deck of Lotte World Tower, Korea's representative landmark, will launch the world's highest thrilling activity, the 'Sky Bridge Tour,' at the tower's topmost section on the 24th.

The 'Sky Bridge Tour' is a high-altitude attraction where visitors cross a bridge connecting two split structures on the rooftop of Lotte World Tower. It represents the pinnacle of Seoul Sky's ongoing commitment to 'experiential observation deck' content since its opening.

The program's most notable feature is that participants can experience the world's highest tower bridge located outdoors at 541 meters above ground, along with the expansive views of Seoul.

In particular, the Lotte World Tower rooftop has not been previously open to the general public, making it even more special as visitors can physically feel Korea's tallest building and the world's fourth tallest structure.

The tour is conducted for one hour with a maximum of 12 participants per group, accompanied by a guide.

First, participants receive safety training and gear up at the 117th floor 'Sky Station.' Wearing a red jumpsuit, helmet, and climbing harness, they are ready to walk in the sky. The harness is later connected to safety lines along the route on the rooftop, allowing participants to enjoy the Sky Bridge with greater security.

Next, participants are introduced to key observation facilities such as the transparent glass floor 'Sky Deck' on the 118th floor and the outdoor terrace 'Sky Terrace' on the 120th floor. They then proceed past the Seoul Sky observation deck to the top outdoor rooftop. Climbing stairs at 500 meters above ground finally leads them to the world's highest tower bridge.

On the 11-meter-long bridge, participants can enjoy various thrilling missions such as looking up at the sky while walking backward and jumping with arms spread wide, capturing breathtaking photos. After the tour, commemorative photos taken on the bridge and observation deck, as well as a tour certificate, provide a unique and unforgettable memory not experienced by anyone else.

The 'Sky Bridge Tour' operates every Wednesday through Sunday from 1 PM to 7 PM (last group departs at 6 PM), except during bad weather or winter season. Children under 12 years old, those weighing over 120 kg, under 140 cm in height, or with conditions related to blood pressure, heart, musculoskeletal or muscular systems, as well as guests who have difficulty using stairs, are not permitted to participate.

Choi Hong-hoon, CEO of Lotte World, said, "We are delighted to introduce a thrilling high-altitude activity never before seen at Seoul Sky, Korea's representative observation deck." He added, "Seoul Sky will continue to strive to become a global complex cultural space offering not only Korea's highest observation deck but also performances, exhibitions, and various activities."

The admission fee is 100,000 KRW per person, including observation deck entry, bridge tour, photo shooting, and printing. Tickets can be purchased at the Seoul Sky B1 ticket office or online. Customers who have paid for the observation deck entry and wish to join the tour afterward can participate at the 117th floor Sky Station for 80,000 KRW.

To commemorate the Sky Bridge opening, a 'Challenge Your Strong Heart!' event is underway until the 30th, recruiting a pre-experience group. Through a preliminary mission, 50 bloggers and Instagrammers plus one companion each, totaling 100 people, will be selected. The selected 100 will enjoy free admission to the observation deck and Sky Bridge experience. After the experience, three best reviewer teams will receive special gifts based on reviews posted on personal blogs and social media.

Since its opening in April 2017, Seoul Sky has become a representative attraction in Korea, visited by world-renowned figures such as President Moon Jae-in, Indian Prime Minister Modi, and the Danish Crown Prince over the past three years. In December 2019, it joined the World Federation of Great Towers (WFGT), alongside landmarks like New York's Empire State Building and Paris's Eiffel Tower, solidifying its status as a global landmark.

Meanwhile, Seoul Sky is taking thorough measures to ensure customer safety amid the COVID-19 situation. Entry is allowed only after confirming mask-wearing and measuring body temperature with thermal cameras. Hand sanitizers are placed throughout the facility for guests to use frequently.
