Park Won-soon Funeral Committee "Earnestly Requests Reconsideration of Complainant's Press Conference"

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] The funeral committee for the late Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon requested on the 13th that the "press conference on the sexual harassment case by the Seoul Mayor," scheduled to be held at 2 p.m., be reconsidered.

On that day, the funeral committee sent a text message to reporters saying, "We earnestly ask you to reconsider today's press conference related to the deceased so that the bereaved family, who are suffering from the pain of a sudden separation, can fully have time to grieve with tears."

The funeral committee stated, "Today, the late Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon is bidding farewell to everything in this world. He is the one who bore even the heavy burdens he had as a human being with his whole body and left."

They added, "At this moment when the rain is falling endlessly, the bereaved family is holding the ashes of the deceased, who have returned as a handful of ashes, and heading to the hometown ancestral burial ground."

Meanwhile, the woman who accused Mayor Park of sexual harassment and other charges is scheduled to hold a press conference to state her position. The accuser herself will not attend the press conference, but lawyer Kim Jae-ryeon, representing the victim, along with representatives from Korea Women's Hotline and the Korea Sexual Violence Counseling Center, are expected to participate.

Earlier, Mayor Park was found dead near Sukjeongmun, Bukaksan Mountain, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, at 12:01 a.m. on the 10th. According to reports, Mayor Park was accused of sexual harassment by his former secretary A on the day before his disappearance, the 8th.

It is known that A appeared at the police station on the same day, submitted a complaint, and underwent an accuser investigation, claiming that she had been sexually harassed by Mayor Park in the past.
