Taekwang Industrial Partners with Social Enterprises to Support Independence of Vulnerable Children

'Keunbit Nanum' Crowdfunding in Progress

Taekwang Industrial Partners with Social Enterprises to Support Independence of Vulnerable Children

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Taekwang Industrial is partnering with the social enterprise Soif this year to conduct the "Taekwang Industrial Keunbit Sharing" crowdfunding campaign.

Taekwang Industrial and Soif announced on the 9th that they will produce functional masks to support the independence and education of children aging out of group homes, and will start crowdfunding through Naver Happybean from the 13th. Soif is a social enterprise that generates revenue through design products and provides design vocational education and job connections to youth in childcare facilities.

Taekwang Industrial decided to apply the mask production idea from the winning entries of last year's "Keunbit Sharing Idea Contest" to this crowdfunding campaign and utilize it as an actual social contribution project. The product name is "Ace Cool Mask," made using functional differentiated yarns from Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Chemical Fiber. The lining uses Taekwang Industrial's "SHELRON," which has excellent UV protection and cooling effects, while the outer fabric applies Daehan Chemical Fiber's polyester antibacterial yarn "AceFresh+."

The design was created in collaboration with Soif and children aging out of care, featuring cute dog and cat characters. The mask comes as a set with a mask storage pouch, priced at 8,000 KRW. The campaign will run online on the Naver Happybean site for 40 days from the 13th to August 21. Taekwang Industrial plans to donate all proceeds to Soif to support design education and independence funds for children leaving group homes.
