Jeonbuk Eastern Region Mayors and County Governors Council Holds Regular General Meeting

Discussion on Projects Including the Establishment of Agricultural and Specialty Products Sales Centers

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Go Dallyeong] The Eastern Region Mayors and County Governors Council, including Namwon, Muju, Jangsu, and Jinan in Jeonbuk, announced on the 7th that it held the 9th regular general meeting of the Eastern Region Mayors and County Governors Council at the Jangsu County Office conference room.

At the regular general meeting, about 30 officials, including County Governor Jang Young-su, Namwon Mayor Lee Hwan-joo, Jinan County Governors Jeon Chun-seong and Hwang In-hong, and Muju County Governor, gathered to collect opinions on the amendment proposal of the Eastern Region Mayors and County Governors Council regulations and the promotion of the Eastern Region agricultural and specialty products sales center construction project.

In particular, at this general meeting, the amendment to the regulations regarding the one-term extension of the council president was approved, and the future direction for the ongoing Eastern Region agricultural and specialty products sales center construction project was established.

Additionally, as the online distribution of agricultural and specialty products expands and its importance grows, in-depth discussions were held regarding the establishment of a joint online shopping mall for the Eastern Region.

County Governor Jang Young-su stated, “Based on the achievements promoted by the Jeollabuk-do Eastern Region Mayors and County Governors Council, we will do our best to prepare various policies and projects for local agriculture and farmers to greatly contribute to agriculture in the Republic of Korea.”
