[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] An octogenarian who went to a neighbor's house with a weapon and caused a disturbance over a parking dispute has been booked by the police.
The Cheongju Cheongwon Police Station in Chungbuk announced on the 7th that Mr. A was booked without detention on charges of special intimidation.
Mr. A is accused of going to the home of Mr. B (62) in Sachang-dong, Seowon-gu, Cheongju City at around 8:17 a.m. that day, knocking on the door, and causing a disturbance by cursing while carrying a weapon.
It was confirmed that Mr. A committed the crime in a fit of anger after drinking following a dispute with Mr. B over parking on the previous day (the 6th).
At the time, Mr. B did not come out of the house and reported the incident to the police, and no injuries were reported.
The police who responded to the report apprehended Mr. A at the scene.
Based on Mr. B's statement that they often argued over parking issues, the police plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the incident.
