Lotte Concert Hall Cine Concert on the 24th... Spotlight on 'John Williams' Film Music

[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] Lotte Concert Hall will spotlight Hollywood film music maestro John Williams in its first Cine Concert of the year on the 24th.

Lotte Concert Hall's Cine Concert is a stage where film and music come together. In this performance, the brass quintet Brass Market will play film scores composed by Williams, including those from the 'Star Wars', 'ET', 'Harry Potter', 'Jaws', and 'Jurassic Park' series.

Starting with "Summon the Heroes," which was used as the official theme for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, the concert will feature the refreshing tones of brass instruments. It will then perform the "Hedwig's Theme" from 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone', a beloved piece worldwide for both children and adults, from novel to film. Following this, the brass quintet will deliver thrilling melodies from the films 'Indiana Jones' and 'Jurassic Park', and present themes from 'JFK' and 'Schindler's List', films that director Steven Spielberg and Williams collaborated on to achieve both artistic merit and popular appeal. Finally, the concert will conclude with the grand and epic main theme from the 'Star Wars' series, captivating the audience from the very beginning.

At the Cine Concert on October 23, Lotte Concert Hall will reinterpret the music of Ennio Morricone, who passed away on the 5th of this month. Representative pieces by Morricone, such as "Gabriel's Oboe" from the film 'The Mission' and "Love Affair," known for their gentle yet profound emotional impact, will be performed by harmonica player Jongseong Park and pianist Younghoon Jo.
