The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced that on the 8th, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, it will hold a 'Parents Academy' for about 500 parents of elementary, middle, and high school students at the Busan SW Education Support Center.

This academy aims to provide parents with the necessity of SW education and career information in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

On the day, Kim Dong-gyu, team leader of the Global New Growth Center at the Korea Productivity Center, will give a lecture titled "If You Want to Raise Your Child as Iron Man - Understanding Coding and Maker Education."

In particular, this academy accepted online applications for two weeks from June 22 to July 6. Although the original plan was for 60 parents to participate, the number of applicants exceeded 500 within a week, allowing all applying parents to participate.

The Busan SW Education Support Center plans to hold the Parents Academy online once a month until the COVID-19 situation is resolved, instead of the previous monthly offline sessions.

Kwon Seok-tae, Director of Future Talent Education, said, "This academy will completely resolve parents' questions about SW education," adding, "We believe it will be very helpful for parents to guide their children's career and academic paths through a better understanding of SW education."
