[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Kim Du-gwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated, "It is highly problematic for multi-homeowners in the Ministry of Economy and Finance or the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to be involved in policymaking," and insisted, "They should be excluded from their duties and must file a recusal request themselves."

On the 7th, Kim appeared on TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' and made these remarks, also revealing plans to disclose the names of the individuals involved.

Kim said, "Previous governments have drafted and implemented many housing policies, but they were not very effective in the actual market. I think the National Assembly, representing the legislative branch, may have largely agreed with and participated in that trend."

He continued, "Most members of the Seoul City Council are from our party, and many of our council members rank within the top 10 in ownership, so I think we need to establish some reasonable standards in that regard."

When asked whether this applies to senior officials in the Blue House and government ministries, he replied, "Yes. It also applies to civil servants in local governments responsible for civil engineering and construction."

Kim said, "It is difficult to simultaneously gain honor and wealth, and it is neither desirable nor appropriate."
