[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 7th that it will promote the ‘Small Business Management Environment Improvement Support Project’ to strengthen the competitiveness of small business owners struggling due to COVID-19.
This project targets small business owners whose average sales in March and April, during the COVID-19 spread period, decreased by more than 25%.
Buk-gu will select 20 businesses that have been established for less than 6 months among the eligible small business owners and support up to 1 million KRW per business for marketing expenses such as promotional material production and advertising costs.
Additionally, for 20 businesses established for more than 6 months, up to 2.5 million KRW will be supported for facility improvement costs such as indoor and outdoor signs, small-scale interior work, and safety and hygiene equipment.
Small business owners wishing to participate in the project can refer to the Buk-gu Office website and submit the related documents to the Buk-gu Office Livelihood Economy Division by visiting in person or by registered mail by the 24th. For further details, inquiries can be made to the Livelihood Economy Division.
Buk-gu plans to select recipients through evaluation by external judges in August, and additional points will be given to applicants who have completed startup education or participated in comprehensive consulting conducted by Buk-gu.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “I hope this project will help stabilize the management of small business owners whose livelihoods are threatened by COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various support measures to help small business owners, who are the foundation of the livelihood economy, recover their management.”
