[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) announced on the 7th that one employee working at a bank located in the FKI Building in Yeouido, Seoul, tested positive for COVID-19.
The FKI Building is a super high-rise office tower completed in 2013, with 51 floors above ground and 6 basement levels.
The bank employee reportedly underwent a COVID-19 test after arriving at work the previous day and waited for the results at home before being confirmed positive.
The infected individual works in an office related to internal bank operations, not at a customer-facing branch counter.
Additionally, according to the FKI, there are no other tenant companies on the floor where the infected employee works besides the bank office.
An FKI official stated, "Following the health authorities' guidance, the entire building was not closed, and all employees working on the affected floor will undergo COVID-19 testing."
