[Golf Topic] Memorial Tournament "Back to No-Audience Matches~"

[Asia Economy Kim Hyun-jun, Golf Specialist Reporter] ○..."Back to no-audience games."

The U.S. Professional Golf (PGA) Tour announced on the 7th (Korean time) that "next week's Memorial Tournament will also not allow spectators." They explained, "Due to the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), pro-am events will not be held either." This tournament, scheduled to be held on the 16th at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, was originally planned as the first event to allow spectators since the COVID-19 outbreak.

The PGA Tour had fully suspended the 2020 season right after the first round of The Players Championship, known as the 'fifth major,' in March, then resumed from the Charles Schwab Challenge on June 11, holding four tournaments including the RBC Heritage, Travelers Championship, and Rocket Mortgage Classic. After this week's Workday Charity Open in Ohio, the schedule continues with the 3M Open in Minnesota on the 23rd and the World Golf Championships (WGC) FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Tennessee on the 30th.
