Gyeongbuk, 'COVID-19' Quiet for Five Days... Regional Confirmed Cases Hold at 1,351 On the morning of July 5th, an official at a church in Buk-gu, Gwangju, is checking the temperature of a worshiper attempting to attend the service. Gwangju City and each autonomous district inspected compliance with quarantine guidelines at religious facilities following the elevation to social distancing level 2 due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] In Gyeongbuk, no new cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have been reported for five consecutive days.


In Gyeongbuk, from the 3rd, there were daily reports of one confirmed case each for four days, including imported cases from Turkey and Kazakhstan, and a couple in their 60s from Gyeongju City.


According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 7th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area remains at 1,351, the same as the previous day. The numbers of recovered patients and deaths also remain unchanged at 1,284 and 58, respectively.


Nine confirmed patients in the region are receiving treatment distributed across Andong Medical Center (5), Dongguk University Gyeongju Hospital (2), and other city/provincial hospitals (2).


The sources of infection by confirmed cases are as follows: Shincheonji 473, Cheongdo Daenam Hospital 116, Pureun Nursing Home 68, Seo Nursing Hospital 65, Yecheon local infection 41, pilgrimage 29, Milal 25, and overseas inflow 35. The infection routes of 499 cases remain unidentified.
