Pizza Hut Holds Nickname Contest for New Menu Items

Pizza Hut Korea is conducting a "New Menu Nickname Contest" on its SNS to reward customers for their support of the new menu item ‘Ultimate Cheese Pocket.’ Customers who suggest a nickname for the menu will be entered into a draw to win a voucher for the item.


The Ultimate Cheese Pocket is a premium new product designed with a pocket-shaped differentiated edge filled generously with Swiss luxury raclette cheese, smooth cream cheese, and chewy mozzarella.


Developed to meet consumers’ desire for a richer cheese experience, the amount of cheese in the cheese pocket edge has actually doubled compared to Pizza Hut’s existing cheese crust.


This product received the highest rating in the brand’s 35-year history during pre-consumer research and has continued to attract strong consumer interest since its launch. More than 140,000 units were sold within two weeks of its release on the 2nd, with about 71,000 sold on weekends alone, enjoying explosive popularity at a rate of one sold every two seconds.


Riding on the popularity of this new menu item, customers who suggest a nickname for the Ultimate Cheese Pocket will be entered into a draw to win a voucher for a large size of the menu item. The contest is accessible via Pizza Hut’s SNS.


A brand representative stated, “We are holding an event to give pizza vouchers to customers who create nicknames for the ‘Ultimate Cheese Pocket,’ which offers a richer cheese flavor than existing pizzas. We hope many people participate in the contest and personally experience the innovative edge filled with cheese to the very end of the dough, enjoying the sweet and salty harmony that anyone, young or old, can enjoy.”


Meanwhile, Pizza Hut has demonstrated overwhelming brand status as a leading company in the premium pizza market by achieving first place for 20 consecutive years in the pizza specialty store category in the Brand Power survey conducted by the Korea Management Association Marketing.
